Engagement lead or client engagement managers top a list of 2018’s most promising jobs, according to professional social network LinkedIn.
It said the rise of technology across every industry has created a flurry of new jobs and associated skills. Most noteworthy, these jobs are not necessarily all tech roles, LinkedIn said.
Hence, the list of most promising jobs highlights those with high median salaries, and job openings with year-over-year growth.
Moreover, it highlights the promising careers most likely to lead to a promotion or advancement within an organization.
LinkedIn gave both the engagement lead and the customer success manager a career advancement score of 10 out of 10.
The engagement lead has a strong job opening year-over-year (YoY) growth of 425%, LinkedIn said. For an engagement lead, the top skills include management, leadership, project management, strategy, and communication.
Meanwhile, the customer success manager has a job openings YoY growth of 91%, LinkedIn added. For a customer success manager, the top skills include management, sales, customer service, leadership, and customer relationship management.
Add to this, LinkedIn gave five other promising jobs a career advancement score of 8 out of 10. They include the enterprise account manager, the data scientist, the software engineering manager, the product manager, and the program manager.
The enterprise account manager has a job openings YoY growth of 74%, LinkedIn revealed. For an enterprise account manager, the top skills include sales, management, account management, solution selling, and business development.
Further, the data scientist has a job openings YoY growth of 45%. For a data scientist, the top skills include Python, data analysis, machine learning, SQL, and statistics.
The software engineering manager has a job openings YoY growth of 38%. For a software engineering manager, the top skills include software development, agile methodologies, management, Java, and SQL.
Additionally, the product manager has a job openings YoY growth of 30%. For a product manager, the top skills include management, product management, program management, marketing, and product development.
Furthermore, the program manager has a job openings YoY growth of 25%. For a program manager, the top skills include management, project management, program management, leadership, and training.
In addition, LinkedIn gave three other promising jobs a career advancement score of 6 out of 10. They include the engineering manager, the sales director, and the solutions architect.
