With millions of fresh data and more insights on the LinkedIn network, recruiters and jobseekers are now reaping new benefits.
In the second leg of its Era of Talent Intelligence forum series, LinkedIn has once again partnered with TeleDevelopment Services, this time with the People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP), in an executive business forum in Fairmont, Makati on September 6.
For the Philippines at present, LinkedIn has 693,000 job posts covering 24,000 standardized skills and 10,000 schools, colleges, and universities.
Overall, it has 6.6 million members covering 203,000 companies in the country. Specifically, 38 percent of LinkedIn members in the Philippines come from the tech, finance, and other corporate sectors.
Globally, the network now has 575 million members covering 18 million companies. In particular, its global data points span over 15 million jobs and 50,000 job skills.
In his presentation, Kunal Malhotra of LinkedIn Enterprise Solutions cited the advent of artificial intelligence in talent recruitment. He also presented the differences between passive sourcing versus active sourcing of job candidates.
Malhotra said publicly open information and technology have created new realities and endless opportunities for talent intelligence.
Aside from Malhotra himself, Park Quilling, SVP for Recruitment of CITCO, also provided various insights as one of the panelists. Completing the panel was Eden Caguiat, Director for Recruitment and Managed Services of TeleDevelopment.
In his welcome remarks, TeleDevelopment President Jon Kaplan used the analogy of matchmaking and marriage to recruiting and finding the right fit for jobseekers.
Kaplan meanwhile cited the advantages of companies leveraging LinkedIn solutions. Specifically, these solutions are not just on recruitment and talent intelligence, but also on employer branding and raising their corporate profiles.
Quilling, among others, cited the ability to mine data and apply science in recruiting and hiring decisions to simplify the recruiter’s task. This way, data-driven hiring results in time and cost savings and reducing attrition rates.
Moreover, he cited the benefits of using LinkedIn solutions where companies could be able to get their return of investment in just three senior hires, compared to other recruiting systems where they have to hire more to obtain their ROI.
Ofelia Montallana-Orcales, forum moderator and Senior Director for Learning & Development and Healthcare Divisions of TeleDevelopment, noted the latest developments in people analytics, big data and data-driven hiring as the latest trend in modernized recruitment.
She cited social media profiles, resumé databases, performance reviews, and online behavior like shopping and reading preferences. These, she stressed, comprise a step up from the days of business cards and political associations.
In the forum, participants included heads, directors, supervisors, and managers in recruitment, human resources, and talent acquisition from various companies.
Specifically, the companies include AsiaLink, Canon, Continuum, Firstsource, Intelenet, Mercury Drug, Pointwest, and Seven Seven. Also, they include Sunlife Grepa, Synchrony Global, Telstra, UST Global, UCPB General Insurance, and Cocolife.
